CONDENSED CAREER OF THE WEEK
In the week Transformers 3 is set loose in the zeitgeist, those wags at College Humour (opens in new tab) pack everything you need to know about every Michael Bay movie into a minute.

ON THE OTHER HAND OF THE WEEK
In the interests of journalistic balance…

Oddly, though both the above video come from different viewpoints, they both basically make the same point: Michael Bay doesn’t give a s**t about story!

ILL-ADVISED PRODUCT PLACEMENT OF THE WEEK
About a minute into the latest episode of Teen Wolf we couldn’t help but be reminded that we could be watching a much better supernatural horror instead…They really should have had Jackson crouched in front of a copy of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen so we’d be ready to watch anything other than that .

ILL-ADVISED MARKETING CAMPAIGN OF THE WEEK
You can’t blame an enterprising DVD distributor for cashing on the Summer Of Superheroes – and The First Avenger specifically – by releasing the dodgy 1990 Captain America movie (with an Italian Red Skull… no, honestly !). But we’re not sure releasing a trailer for it is the wisest move. They’d be better advised just to let the thing slip out quietly and hope a few punters are stupid enough to think they’re buying the new Captain America movie while it’s still on at the cinema. This trailer could actively stop people buying it…

WORST SET OF THE WEEK
True Blood ’s back and Sookie’s away with the fairies. Though quite why they would create a world for themselves that looks like a ’70s porn movie filmed on Bespin isn’t entirely clear…

HOMAGE OF THE WEEK
From this week’s Harry And His Hippo strip in The Dandy. We want to see a fight between Cyber-Hippo and a Judoon!

MOST UNEXPECTED MASH-UP OF THE WEEK
Sometimes, we gush, “It just had to happen!” In this case, we never in our wildest imaginations thought it would ever happen…

AMBITION OF THE WEEK
Peter Jackson may have recreated Middle-earth in New Zealand, but a fellowship of fans from MOCpages.com (opens in new tab) have recreated his vision of Middle-earth in Lego; Hobbiton, Minas Tirath, Rivendell, Pelinnor Fields and all. The team showed off their mammoth plastic fantasy world at BrickWorld 2011 in Wheeling, Illinois, and easily nabbed the Best Group Layout award. REIMAGINING OF THE WEEK

VITAL HITCHHIKING KNOWLEDGE OF THE WEEK
Congrats to Tim Steveson (opens in new tab) for these excellent new Hitchhiker’s Guide entries. We’re surprised there aren’t more like these on the ’net. Maybe he’ll start a trend. Then again, maybe they are out there and we just haven’t come across them. Because the internet is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to the internet.
