Here are the great people you’ll be able to meet on SFX ‘s stand , number 1502 in the San Diego Convention Center, next week.
THURSDAY 21 JULY

Bonnie Burton is the author of such books as The Star Wars Craft Book , You Can Draw Star Wars and Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars . In addition to writing for SFX magazine she also writes for Star Wars Insider magazine and is a senior editor and writer for StarWars.com . Bonnie became an SFX columnist in 2011 and her latest piece, tips for dating during the zombie apocalypse, is in issue 211 on sale now. At Comic-Con, Bonnie is appearing on our SFX panel, above, and is also a panelist on “Oh, You Sexy Geek”, a cosplay and feminism and geek girls panel (10:45 Thursday in room 6A), plus is running a Star Wars craft demo on Sunday. Joseph McCabe is the US editor (west coast) of SFX magazine and the associate editor of FEARnet.com . In addition he’s probably best known as the author of the Bram Stoker and International Horror Guild Award-nominated book Hanging Out With The Dream King: Conversations With Neil Gaiman And His Collaborators . He is on Twitter as @JMaCabre .
Tara Bennett is the author or co-author of several movie and TV companion books including The Lost Encyclopedia , The Art Of 300 and The Art Of Terminator Salvation . She has also written nearly a thousand features for print and online publications such as: Lost: The Official Magazine , SCI FI Magazine , Newsarama and VFXWorld.com. She is the US editor (east coast) for SFX . She moderated the last two 24 panels at San Diego Comic-Con (featured on the 24 Complete Box Set) and is also an adjunct professor at Rowan University in New Jersey, teaching Film and Television studies. Mark Buckingham has been the regular artist on Fables for DC Comics, working with its writer and creator Bill Willingham, for which they have earned numerous comic industry awards. He has also illustrated Willingham’s Down The Mysterly River prose novel released this summer by Tor books. In addition Mark is also the regular cover artist on IDW’s Doctor Who comic and is currently working with Neil Gaiman on a comic strip for the Brilliant Book Of Doctor Who 2012 for BBC Books.

Toby Whithouse is the creator, lead writer and executive producer of Being Human , currently filming its fourth season. He has also written for Torchwood and is a regular writer on Doctor Who . SFX readers will remember him from panels and discussions at both previous Weekender events.

Mira Grant was also signing books on the SFX stand at Comic-Con last year so this is a welcome return for a popular novelist. Her Newsflesh trilogy is a smart, contemporary take on the zombie apocalypse beginning with Feed last year and with Deadline just out now. It’s planned as a trilogy with the final instalment due for release in 2012. In her alternate guise as urban fantasy author Seanan McGuire, she was the recipient of the 2010 John W Campbell Award for Best New Writer. Her website is at http://miragrant.com .
