Far Cry 3’s lead writer teased Joystiq about something “surprising” in the game’s near future. The bengal tiger may have been let out of the bag a bit early, though, with materials emerging from multiple sources for a new release called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
“I’m working on something now that will be surprising, I think, when it’s announced,” lead writer Jeffrey Yohalem said. “But it definitely is a ‘strike while the iron’s hot’ thing, and we’ll see.”
Meanwhile, Brazilian ratings have emerged for a first-person shooter titled Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and a NeoGAF user posted some alleged Xbox Live Arcade box art.
Is Blood Dragon a standalone downloadable expansion to Far Cry 3, in the vein of Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare? And what’s with that ’80s-chic neon wireframe?
We’ll hopefully find out soon, but Ubisoft told IGN it has no official comment on the materials at this point.
