Romantics Anonymous review

WRITER/DIRECTOR JEAN PIERRE Améris steers a well-trodden course in this stylised French romcom, set in the world of chocolate production. Factory boss Jean-René (Benoît Poelvoorde) and confectionery-maker Angélique (Isabelle Carré) fall for one another, yet both are crippled by pathological shyness, which creates obvious problems when it comes to revealing their true feelings.

The two leads are likeable, while scenes of therapy sessions (both group and individual) notch up some amusing moments. But the taste it leaves is more saccharine than bittersweet.
