Doom upgrades let you make the guts-ripping action even faster

Bethesda and id Software are taking a modern approach to the heavy metal action of the original Doom games with their new Doom (opens in new tab). In other words, it’s going to be fast. But if you want to shoot demons and leap around metal corridors even quicker – with a tempo somewhere around a Dragonforce guitar solo, let’s say – that’s one way you can customize your Doomguy’s abilities.

We’ve already been over how you’ll progress through Doom multiplayer (opens in new tab), and now Doom executive producer Marty Stratton and creative director Hugo Martin talk about your mean green space marine’s single-player progression options in this new video.

You can catch the Doom launch trailer (opens in new tab) if you want a more cinematic look at the single-player campaign (opens in new tab). Whichever part you prefer, the whole Doom package will arrive on Friday, May 13.
