Imagine a world where Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck were never cast as the Man of Steel or the Dark Knight. In fact, while you’re at it, imagine a world where the first actors to ever tackle those iconic roles on the big screen were the only actors to ever play them.

It’s not your bog standard supercut or a “let’s get rid of Doomsday” version. This is the stuff of pure fantasy, one where Christopher Reeve’s Superman faces off against Michael Keaton’s Batman. You’ve got to hand it to them – it must have taken ages to fine-tune the edits and tweak footage to unite the two onscreen. The best bit? We now want a villainous crossover starring Jack Nicholson and Gene Hackman.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25, 2016.
