Game of Thrones season 7 teaser trailer hints at Cerseis reign

At the moment Game of Thrones (opens in new tab) season 7 is in the early stages of production. We’re talking very early stages, as showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have pushed back the shoot so they can better film a true Westerosi winter. Instead of the usual spring premiere date, season 7 won’t start airing until much later in 2017! But don’t worry; HBO clearly sensed us all quietly losing our minds and decided to unveil a cheeky little preview at San Diego Comic Con (opens in new tab).

Watch it below:

As behind-the-scenes clips go it’s a fun little tease, giving us a bit of insight into what’s happening right now on a show we won’t see for another twelve months. There’s trips to most of the corners of the Seven Kingdoms and general set shenanigans, but one thing that’s abundantly clear is the importance of Queen Cersei’s reign. Spoiler, it’s a big deal.

Ok, so we kinda already knew that, but nevertheless it’s a blast getting to watch set decorators and costume designers plot her presence for the next season.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO in Summer 2017.
