Wait? Did Nintendo forget to announce the new Fatal Frame game?

Not that you’d know it from Nintendo’s E3 conference (opens in new tab) last night but Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water is finally on the way to Wii U in North America and Europe. The fifth in the Japanese horror franchise will be arriving on gamepads in ‘Fall’.

It’s definitely business as usual for the series as you investigate creepy houses that even the gang from Scooby Doo would know to avoid. Losing the Project Zero name and just rolling with Japanese name Fatal Frame, this is the story of Yuuri Kozukata who works at an antique shop and can bring ghosts through from a ‘Shadow World’.

Photography is still the name of the game and it hands you a camera with which to snap your foes. Despite the fact that I’d rather have a wrench, this does look like a perfect fit for the Wii U gamepad. Wow, there’s a sentence I don’t get to type very often. Take a look at the shadowy E3 trailer below.
