A Game of Thrones season 7 return could prove (again) that dead doesnt mean dead

As we all know by now, death isn’t exactly a permanent fate (opens in new tab) on Game of Thrones but, even then, there are some characters you expect to shuffle off their mortal coil and never, ever return. Game of Thrones season 7 (opens in new tab), though, may see the return of someone who had seemingly met a very permanent end. (Spoilers follow. Obviously)

The end of Game of Thrones season 6 (opens in new tab) saw Arya Stark finally get revenge on Walder Frey for the Red Wedding by feeding him a son-filled pie and cutting his throat. However, according to Watchers on the Wall (opens in new tab), the actor who plays Walder Frey, David Bradley, will be making a comeback.

It’s unlikely that Melisandre will rock up and revive the ghastly Walder Frey like she did with Jon Snow, but it is likely that Arya will show off more of her faceless tricks by taking on the role of Walder Frey.

She’ll surely want to get close to anyone else who played a part in the deaths of Arya’s mother and brother – not to mention her future sister-in-law and unborn child. But the big question remains: who will she face off with next?

Hell hath no fury like an Arya scorned.

Game of Thrones season 7 will debut on HBO this summer.
