A Utah Man, suffering from a rare genetic condition that literally causes his skin to peel off, hasn’t let the disease slow him down.
Twenty-three-year-old Matt Farnworth has a form of what is called epidermolysis bullosa, which causes the skin to blister in response to the slightest of injuries, ksl.com reported.
There are four main types of the condition — all varying in severity from minor blistering of the skin to a lethal form involving other organs, according to the National Institutes of Health.
As a teenager, Farnworth took up a competitive rollerblading — a sport that most with this condition would never dream of doing.
“I don’t know, it’s kind of challenging in a way that, I don’t know, it just brings out who you are and lets you pretty much express yourself,” Farnworth told the news station.
So, what happens when he takes a spill?
“You know, I realize that even though my skin is torn, I can still go and I can skate and I can maneuver and do all the normal things,” he told ksl.com.
