The Amazing Spider-Man has released a pair of new images, showing Andrew Garfield’s friendly, neighbourhood web-slinger in rather a spot of bother.
The first image shows Spidey in what we can only assume is Curt Connors’ lab. He looks worried, and judging by that X-ray of a lizard’s skeleton peeping out of the background, we think we’ve got a fairly good idea why.
The second shot shows Spider-Man handcuffed and held at gunpoint by what looks like a SWAT team. Could it be that Captain Stacy has got some back-up in his attempts to stop the masked vigilante, or are the heavy mob here to take down the Lizard?
Now that the Avengers have come and gone, it’s nice to have Spidey around to fill the Marvel-shaped hole in our lives. And with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman recently confirmed to be writing the sequel, it looks as if the red and blue suit is here to stay.
Directed by Marc Webb and featuring support from Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen and Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man will open in the UK on 4 July 2012. The superhero summer just gets better and better…
