Production is well underway on the long-awaited Deadpool feature and star Ryan Reynolds has offered a glimmer of hope that audiences will see another familiar face alongside him. Hugh Jackman, who co-starred with Reynolds in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, could be dropping by the set to shoot a brief scene as the adamantium-clawed mutant.
It’s not a dead cert but the fact that cameras are rolling on X-Men: Apocalypse in the same city lends some weight to the possibility. So, is it likely? “God I hope so,” Reynolds tells News Limited, “that would be really nice. I dunno, we’ll see. It seems like he’s open to it, but it’s gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else.”
Jackman has made no bones about the fact that The Wolverine 3 will mark his last performance as the titular mutant. However, considering that he has appeared in every single X-Men movie to date, it would throw off his track record if those iconic mutton chops didn’t make a cheeky cameo.
