The Xbox One could take center stage again later this month at Gamescom, as Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer will deliver Gamescom’s keynote address.
Event organizer Koelnmesse issued a statement from Spencer (via CVG):
“The industry is at a turning point,” Spencer said. “Gamescom is the ideal platform to discuss the impact of new hardware, accessories and software for the next generation of games. There has never been a better time to be a part of this industry. It is exciting to see how developers and authors use the new opportunities and create a completely new way of playing.”
The date and details of Spencer’s speech have not yet been announced. Given the statement and Microsoft’s policy reversal on self-publishing late last month, it’s likely he’ll argue for the system as a friendly ecosystem for small and large developers alike.
