The latest SFX wishlist: Labyrinth reboot

Labyrinth turns 30 this year! The ’80s fantasy classic, which starred David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly and a lot of weird and wonderful creatures, is set for the reboot treatment, with Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman penning the script – though, for her part, Perlman has denied that this will be a traditional remake, saying “No one is remaking Labyrinth. That movie is perfect as it is.”

The tale of teenager Sarah venturing into a mystical world to save her little brother from the Goblin King (memorably and lasciviously played by Bowie) has become a beloved cult classic, with a large and loyal following. For many it’s something of a sacred cow, so it’s going to be fascinating to see how a new version works out…

But what would you like to see in the film? Should it stick with the puppets of the originals or go down the CG animation route? Do you want to see another rock star as the villain? And if so, who? Should it be a reboot, a sequel or something else entirely? If you have any thoughts, suggestions, yays or nays that you think the makers of Labyrinth should take note of, we want to hear them. Post your suggestions below, via email, and Facebook and Twitter, and the best of the bunch could be brought to life through the medium of a funny drawing in a future SFX!
