Fast & Furious 8 tears up the streets of Havana in behind-the-scenes video

Vin Diesel and company are headed to Cuba in the next chapter of Fast & Furious, as revealed in a video posted to the film franchise’s official Facebook page (opens in new tab). The behind-the-scenes video teases the start of a drag race down the colorful streets of Havana – between two of those trademark vintage cars, naturally.

Diesel says Furious 8 is the “first global Hollywood movie” to be allowed to film in Cuba, presumably in decades. Hopefully he turns to the camera at some point in the film and delivers a sincere “Thanks Obama” for reopening diplomatic relations with the island nation. Maybe this is what that poster meant by traveling “new roads” (opens in new tab)?

Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Jason Statham, Furious 8 will open in the US and in the UK on April 14, 2017.
